OVC-ARC Riverside Online Professional Training Conference 9/9-9/29 2004 WORKSHOP INFORMATION FOR CEU CREDIT Medical Forensic Examination of Abuse Victims with Disabilities Diane Faugno, RN, CPN, SANE-L Workshop Description: This workshop will assist law enforcement, medical providers, and prosecutors to understand the medical findings in physical and sexual assault of the disabled adult. Goals of the medical legal examination as well as injury mechanism with nonspecific injury's will be discussed. Photographs will also be presented to assist the learner in injury identification. Opinions will be reviewed as to forming a conclusion about the physical and or sexual assault history and time frame as stated by the victim. Sexual assault team roles (medical, advocacy, law enforcement) will be identified and discussed. 2. Attendee will be able to describe appropriate treatment, referral and follow-up services for the disabled victim. 3.
